Scope of contents of Forum Arkeologi jurnal
Forum Arkeologi Journal contains scientific thoughts, research results or reviews/ reviews on archaeology published twice a year in April and October.
General Standard of Scientific Writing
- The manuscript written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.
- Title, Abstract and Keywords should be written in two languages (Bahasa Indonesian and English).
- Written using MS Word on A4 size paper (210 mm x 297mm), Times New Roman (TNR) font size 12, space 1.15. Using 3 cm for all margins. Minimum of 10 pages, maximum 20 pages of contents (excluding attachments).
- References to terms outside the Indonesian or English languages should be written in italics
Structure of Scientific Writing
The script of Scientific Writing composed include the following elements:
- Title
- Author's Name and Address
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction (including background, problem formulation, purpose, theory, and hypothesis [optional])
- Research Methods (containing time and place, materials / data collection methods, methods, data analysis)
- Results and Discussion (including illustrations: drawings / tables / charts / photos / diagrams etc)
- Conclusions
- Suggestion (optional)
- References
- Attachment (optional)
How to Write a Title
- The title in Bahasa Indonesia typed centrally in bold capital letters and reflects the essence of the writing.
- The English title written in capital letters at the beginning of each word, in bold, italic, and centered.
- If the title written in Bahasa Indonesia then underneath it is re-written in English, vice versa.
How to Write Name and Address
- Author’s name typed under title, written completely without mentioning academic degree, typed center average and in bold. When written by two or three people, then behind the name is given a super script.
- The author's address (name and address of the workplace entity) is written complete with a single space spacing under the author's name. If two or three authors with the same address, only one address is written.
- Email Address (electronic mail) is written under the author's address.
If the author consists of more than one person then a 'and' links should be added (not '&').
How to Write Abstract and Keyword
- The word ‘abstract’ is written center, italic and bold.
- Abstract written in one paragraph, not in mathematical form, question, or conjecture. Written continuously without reference, quotation, abbreviation, and is independent with italic letters. Typed in single space, font 11 and written in two languages (Bahasa Indonesia and English). Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia consists of maximum 250 words and English maximum of 150 words.
- Abstract contains four aspects, namely: the purpose of research, the methods used, the results of research, and the conclusion of the study.
- If the manuscript uses Bahasa Indonesia, the abstract should be in English takes precedence and vice versa.
- Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia followed by keyword in Indonesian, while abstract in English followed by keyword in English.
- Abstract written not parallel to the script narrative, and typed italic.
- Keywords consist of at least three words and at most five words, written in italics.
How to Present Table
- The title of the table is displayed at the top of the table, left-hand side (not center), written using TNR font size 10.
- 'Table' and 'numbers' are written bold, while table titles are normally written. Use Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.) for numbering table titles.
- The table is displayed on the left-hand side of the page (not the center).
- Font size and size for table contents can use TNR or Arial Narrow size 8-11 with distance 1.0.
- Inclusion of source or description is placed under table, left-hand side, using TNR font size 10.
How to Present Images, Graphics, Photos, or Diagrams
- Pictures, graphics, photos, or diagrams are displayed in the middle of the page (center).
- Captions of any pictures graphics, photographs, or diagrams are written below the illustrations, using TNR font size 10, placed in the center.
- 'Picture, Graphics, Photos, or Diagrams' and 'numbers' are written bold, while the content of the information is written normally.
- Use Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.) for the numbering of images, graphics, photographs, or diagrams.
- Inclusion of source or description is placed under the illustration, left flat, using TNR font size 10.
How to Cite :
- Citation and Reference are written according to Chicago Manual of style
- The order in the bibliography is written alphabetically.
- There should be at least 10 references, preferably 80 percent of the primary references and 20 percent secondary references for any article based on research. On the other hand, at least 25 references needed for any article based on review or study.
- The font size 11 (TNR).

- Manuscripts written and submitted have not been sent to other journal publishers and published in other publications.
- Script according to the scope of Journal of Archeology Forum, ie archeology, history, ethnography, anthropology, and other supporting sciences related to human and culture.
- The manuscript written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.
- The manuscript has been prepared in accordance with the format and systematics of script writing (as per the script template Journal Forum Arkeologi).
Citation and bibliography have been in accordance with the style of Forum Arkeologi.
- The author is subject to the decision and the result of the review of the manuscript by the Editorial Board.

In order to be accepted and published by Forum Arkeologi, Author(s) who submit an article should complete all the review process. The copyright of received articles assigned to the Forum Arkeologi as publishers of the journal. The intended copyright includes the rights to publish articles in various forms (including reprints).
